Sloan Montgomery was established in 1946 as Douglas Montgomery Associates, an employee attitude and compensation survey firm working primarily with textile mills in South Carolina. As the textile industry faded and more employment regulations were established, the firm evolved into its current form as compliance consultants. In 1988, a merger with Henry Sloan & Associates created Sloan, Montgomery, Gregory & Hall, Inc. This merger resulted in the rapid expansion of the company into numerous new industries and beyond the borders of South Carolina.
In January 2020, Reece was named the 6th President in the 70+ year history of Sloan Montgomery. Since joining the firm in 1994, he has assisted clients in the resolution of federal Wage and Hour and EEOC complaints along with state level Dept. of Labor disputes in the Carolinas and Georgia.
A lifelong resident of South Carolina, Reece has lived in the upstate and on the coast prior to settling in Columbia following completion of his undergrad and graduate degrees at the University of South Carolina.
In his free time, he enjoys cycling, travelling, and is always ready to jump into a card or board game with his family.
